The Princess Royal is President or Patron of some 320 organisations. She is the Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Army Veterinary Corps.
Major General Roly Walker was appointed as the Colonel Commandant RAVC on 1 March 17.
Brigadier Walker is a serving officer who is the Head of Army Strategy and is a service officer based in London.
He was commissioned in the Irish Guards in 1993 and transferred to the Grenadier Guards in 2009 before joining the Staff in 2011.
Colonel Neil Smith QHVS was appointed Chief Veterinary Officer for the second time in July 2017. He has spent the last 3 years commanding 203 Field Hospital in Cardiff.
Lieutenant Colonel Abby DuBaree was appointed Regimental Secretary RAVC in July 2011, following 37 years of regular service in the RAMC which included Commanding the Defence Medical Services Training Centre Sp Unit, 33 Field Hospital, Frimley Park MOD Hospital Unit and the Army Medical Directorate Sp Unit before retiring in 2006.
Lt Col Chris Ham MBE was appointed as the Chairman of the RAVC Association in January 2015. Prior to his appointment, Chris Ham served for 37 years in the RAVC.
He is also the present Officer Commanding of 101 Military Working Dog Squadron (Reserves) based at North Luffenham.
WO1 (Corps RSM) Stuart Rowles assumed the role of Corps RSM RAVC on 1 April 17.
Following dog training qualifications he served in the specialist dog training section and also the RAVC Dog Display Team. He completed several operational tours in Bosnia and Afghanistan in a variety of roles which included: Protection dog handler, Arms Explosive Search dog handler, SQMS and Theatre military Working Dog Advisor.
He was also RQMS at the Defence Animal Centre before moving to the Royal College for Defence Medicine as the RSM on promotion to WO1 in May 2015.
